Changes in UK student visa policy

Thứ tư, 04/09/2013, 01:54 GMT+7

Some changes will be launched by the Home Office to tighten rate of visa success for genuine students wishing to study in the Uk

Information from British Council in Hanoi was announced on some changes in UL student visa policy including English requirement, finance, medical check and interview. These changes will not be a hinder for genuine students who wish to study at highly truested sponsors in the UK.

Since April 2013, the Home Office has announced some changes such as students interviews - credibility checks , tuberculosis testing and visa application fee increase.

Video Skype Interviews for Tier 4 Students

The Home Office will be introducing a new video interview whereby all students will be asked to sit a short video interview with a member of Home Office staff based in the UK and this will form part of the usual visa application process. The Home Office will begin the new video interviews across all regions throughout May 2013 and should be fully implemented worldwide by June 2013. This is an additional tool to help them assess a student’s genuine intentions to study.

Tuberculosis testing in Vietnam

From 30 June 2013, residents of Vietnam who wish to come to the UK for more than 6 months must be tested for tuberculosis (TB) before applying for a visa.

If you submit an application at the visa application centre in Hanoi or ho Chi Minh City on or after 30 June 2013, you will need to take a TB test if you are applying to come to the UK for 6 months or longer. Students need contact IOM in Hanoi/HCMC to know testing fee and schedule.

Visa application fee increases

In Hanoi: Visa application fee: 9,834,000 dongs

In HCMC (VFS Centre): 11,200,000 dongs (VFS’s service fee included)

Besides, applicants need to pay an EMS fee of 40,000 dongs if they would like their passports to be delivered to their homes.
